Vanish

Branding and Packaging

The entire range of the stain remover Vanish, was in need of a brand refresh. The brand mark and pack designs were previously being rolled out globally with inconsistent designs and varying print qualities. The Vanish logo was redesigned for greater impact, whilst also simplifying the print specification to enable it to be reproduced consistently across the globe.

Pack range designs for the various markets, required careful consideration. Each having their own specific requirements and regional nuances.

Range Implementation

Vanish Global

LATAM & ASEAN POWDERS

The primary range for Latin America and Southeast Asia has a strong dark blue banner, which has good impact across both pink and white packs. Details, such as the swing tags, stitching and the layering of the elements give the pack extra depth.

Working as part of a team, I was more heavily involved in this pack range. This included design aspects and the roll out of front and back of pack, across the whole range.

Vanish Tier 1

Gels & powders

The primary pack designs for Europe, USA and regions where warmer washes are more habitual. The designs needed to communicate that cooler washes are now possible with the product, so the ice textured banner was created. The addition of the ‘NEW’ label and swing tags, align the packs with the global look and feel.

Although not involved in the initial concepts, my roll was to implement the design across the various formats in both single and dual languages. This presented many design and communication challenges across a large range on both front and back of packs.

Vanish Tier 2 & 3

GELS & POWDERS

The lower tiered Vanish range has a much simpler pack design, but still includes some of the cues used globally. The stitching separates the main claim from the logo, and is also used in other details on the pack.

I was given the challenge of implementing the design across a range of bottles and tubs in both single and dual languages.

Vanish Brand Guidelines

Branding and Packaging

Whilst working on the various Vanish pack ranges, I was also actively writing much of the brand guidelines. Constantly updating and creating new guidance as the brand evolved.

The work on this page was produced while working for Marks Design.
